The Yoga and Mindfulness Summer Week Retreat will be held in hotel Pavlos' Place situated in the unkown paradise Triopetra Beach in Crete, Greece. One of the last places on Crete where you can really be one with nature and behold the sky of stars at night in all its glory. The many miles of undisturbed nature and deserted beaches will guarantee lovely strolls on the beach and mediations. You will arrive in an oasis of peace, tranquility, and beauty with crystal clear water.

Crete

Crete is the largest of all Greek islands, and is the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Crete has a history of well more than 9000 years. The first inhabitants (7000 BC) probably originated from the east and decided to stay there, as the climate was warm and the soil fertile. The occupied themselves with cattle breeding. The first period people mainly lived on the lower ends of the Island, predominantly at the coast, later they started to live on higher grounds. Crete has had a moving history noting many occupants. There are many sights to see on the island that remind you of all those different times.

Crete is known for its 'comfortable' climate, which means its rarely stuffy weather. Its location in the sea means that there is a constant breeze, which causes a constant cooling. The breeze usually comes from the West. During the summer a strong northern wind, the Meltemi, can occur, that can go on for days that cools down the island dramatically. Making sure it stays comfortably warm.

The teacher

Hans Kloosterman, Mindfulness Trainer

Hans Kloosterman is a Tibetan buddhist and studied at the Tibetan Kagyu Vasjrayana institute in Huy, Belgium, that has a small monastery community with several lamas, monks and nunns. He has lived six years as a monk in training and studies buddhism since 2005. From 2000 until 2005 he has followed the 3 year hatha training and 2 year meditation training at Osmose in The Hague. He teaches classic hatha yoga, Chi Kong and various meditations such as the non dual meditation (shamatha, vipashyana and samadhi).

During a mindfulness training he teaches people to be fully present in the here and now at everything they do and to make them aware on three levels: physical, emotional, and mentally. The 8 week mindfulness training 1.0 (for beginners) is given according to the MBSR training from Jon Kabat Zinn. Hans has designed an sequal: Mindfulness 2.0, in which Vipashyana meditation and developing the 10 virtues, such as compassion, play an important role.

He organizes yoga & mindfulness workshops, courses and retreats in The Netherlands and abroad.

Hans is the author of the recently released autobiographic book "From snob to monk". His calling is: Creating Awareness.

Contribution

Your contribution for this all-inclusive week is € 795, -- per person full pension for a shared room with bathroom.

If you would like a single room to yourself, this will be €125 extra.

Excluded from this price are: Plane tickets to Crete, taxi ride to Hotel Pavlov's Place in Crete (113 euro) - we try to coordinate that taxi ride will be shared, excursions, holistic massage (35 euro).
